Alistair completed a three-year BSc (Hons) Culinary Arts Management course at Thames Valley University in 2010. Alongside the degree he underwent one-to-one training with Yolande Stanley MCA, and was selected to join the UK Skills Team which competed in Canada in 2009. He achieved fifth place, the highest ever world ranking for a UK pastry chef, winning the coveted Medallion of Excellence. Following this, Alistair went on to gain first place in the Academy of Culinary Arts, Annual Award of Excellence. In 2012 he also competed in the UK World Chocolate Masters and came second. In 2013 Alistair was awarded a coveted Acorn award. In that year he was also invited to China by the British Council to participate in a tour of schools and colleges promoting Patisserie as a high-end skill. In 2015 he competed in the UK World Chocolate Masters once again – this time winning the UK and Ireland Chocolate Masters title. Alistair worked at famed chocolatier William Curley for over six years where he truly learnt his craft and rose up the ranks to the head chocolatier position before joining Harrods in January 2016 where he is Head Pastry Chef. Alistair now leads a large and diverse pastry and bakery team delivering high-end products in Harrods in-house restaurants and Food Halls and driving various other projects for the business.
