Darren Deadman is the Chef Director at Searcys, a UK luxury dining caterer.
Born in Kent to a family of chefs, farmers and food lovers, from a young age Darren was around food and its seasons. After training for three years at one of the country’s top catering institutions, Darren spent a year in Le Touguet, France, and Ostend, Belgium, to fine tune his skills and knowledge of classical cooking, and to truly appreciate quality food.
On returning to the UK, Darren worked in some of London’s finest, world-renowned hotels and restaurants under an array of top-level chefs and mentors. During his time, Darren has cooked for the Royal Family, foreign diplomats and state banquets. He has also travelled the world to learn different cultures and styles, but still his love for the British seasons comes through in the food he creates.
Having worked at some of the biggest high-profile events, such as the Farnborough Air Show with over 200 chefs, the London BAFTAs and the Brit Awards, as well as being the culinary lead at the Olympics, Darren can accommodate the logistical challenges of any kitchen, and deliver high-class standards across both multi-sites and the niche of private tastings.
Darren’s enthusiasm for quality British food manifests in his use of the finest locally-sourced produce. Equally, his affinity with the outdoors is evident in all of his recipes, which are pieced together with cunning creativity.
